These documents and scripts are provided to support the set up of FATES for single-site simulations.
- make_fates_met_driver.Rmd. This R Markdown file creates single-point meteorological drivers for ELM or CLM (FATES’ host models).
- make_fates_domain+surface.Rmd. This R Markdown file creates single-point domain and surface files for ELM or CLM.
- create_case_hlm-fates.Rmd. This R Markdown file creates a case for a single-point simulation using either ELM-FATES or CLM-FATES (it can be used for non-FATES simulations too).
- fates_plot_monthly.Rmd. This script reads in ELM or CLM output (with or without FATES), and generates some time series of variables of interest.
- make_fates_tower_summary.Rmd. This script computes simple monthly averages of multiple tower-based fluxes and creates a netCDF file with units compatible with ELM or CLM. This file can be used to assess the model behaviour for multiple variables.
- c6_modis-lai_poi.Rmd. This R Markdown compiles leaf area index data derived from MODIS (Collection 6).
- fates_tower_compare_monthly.Rmd. This script generates multiple figures to test ELM or CLM (with or without FATES) for a single tower. If available, it will also compare the results with MODIS LAI estimates.
Important 1. Make sure to download the directory “RUtils” available on GitHub, and set variable util_path
accordingly for scripts that have this variable.
